Karen Lubbers to Speak in Grayling, MI!
NORTHERN MICHIGAN SMALL FARM CONFERENCE
PRESENTS: KAREN LUBBERS
Friday, January 21st, 7-8pm. Grayling High School. $5 at the door.
Karen Lubbers‘ six-year old daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer in 1993. The journey that followed led their family from mainstream America to the pursuit of sustainable agriculture. Karen will recount their journey and share the provocative lessons learned along the way. The growing dis-ease of the US population—soaring cancer and diabetes rates, one in every 100 children diagnosed with autism—bring a special relevance to her observations. She will describe the continuing impact those lessons have on the way they farm and shape their family business.
